Mark Haisma Gevrey Chambertin Croix des Champs 2010
Gevrey-Chambertin, Côtes de Nuits, Côte d'Or, Burgundy, FranceWinemaker Mark Haisma is making a name for himself in Burgundy. The former Yarra Yering winemaker is making elegant dry style Burgundy with wide appeal. This 2010 Gevrey has a fresh tobacco, celery salt, sour cherry, compost nose with vanilla, cedar and smoky strawberry aromas. The attack is fresh and dry with albeit a tight palate with light tannins. More sour cherries cedar, celery root, pepper, orange peel and vanilla flavours mark the palate. A cooler, more linear version of the 2009. Definitely needs more time to round out with its inherently higher acidity and light tannins. A solid village wine.Tasted: 24 July 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $65.00 | 750ml | specialty listing |
