Villa di Capezzana Carmignano 2007
Carmignano, Tuscany, ItalyThe 104 ha vineyard at Capezzana estate is owned by the Contini Bonacossi family. Benedetta Contini Bonacossi works with Stefano Chioccioli to make the wine. The site faces west/southwest over clay/schist with limestone. The 2007 vintage was a good one and you feel it the wine. The mix is 80/20 sangiovese cabernet sauvignon the nose a mix of cherries and savoury red liquorice. The palate is rich and warm and at six years now exuberant with resiny black plums, spice and tobacco to beat the band. Long intense and perfect with rich meat dishes.
