Cockburn's Vintage Port 2011
Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalMost of the 2011 grapes come from Quinta dos Canais and Quinta do Vale Coelho and have for over a century. There is also a small addition from Quinta do Cachão de Arnozelo a short distance from Canais. Touriga Nacional (55) and Touriga Franca (30) are mixed with very old vine filed blends. The colour is intense. The nose floral with peppery, resin, liquorice, lanolin, raisin, black cherry jam and black tea aromas. Rich, round, moderately sweet but elegant with a good tannic structure and acidity. Black cherry, plum pudding, peppery, black tea and roast meat. Similar to Smith Woodhouse but with a bit more backbone. 36,000 bottles.
