Gérard Bertrand La Forge 2010

Corbières, Languedoc, Sud de France, FranceLa Forge is a four hectare site in the heart of the Boutenac a new sub-appellation of Corbières where the vines are long-lived. The wine spends 15 months in new French oak barriques. Look for a rich black olive, meaty, black cherry jam, garrigue nose flecked with coffee, tobacco, vanilla, cedar and five-spice aromas. Rich, full, round, smooth palate but balanced if somewhat warm. More vanilla, chocolate, coffee, roast meat, black raspberry jam, blackberry, liquorice flavours sill across your palate spiked with poultry spice, orange peel and black tea flavours. Long, suave and ripe this needs time in bottle (3-5 years) but it will be excellent.Tasted: 07 April 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
