Domaine Faiveley Corton Clos des Cortons Grand Cru (Monopole) 2010

Aloxe-Corton, Côte de Beaune, Côte d'Or, Burgundy, FranceMade from 50-year old vines the Clos des Corton has an earthy, spicy light barnyard nose flecked with strawberry, vanilla and smoky cherry aromas. The attack is fresh and dry with some light tannins showing through in the finish. The flavours mix pomegranate and strawberry jam with smoky, gamey, dried herbs and five spice flavours. The finish is long and sweet building intensity from front to back. It should only get better in the bottle. Tasted: 19 January 2013Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
