Antinori Badia A Passignano Chianti Classico Riserva 2007

Tuscany, ItalyBadia a Passignano Riserva is produced from the best grapes of the property in the Chianti Classico area. A terrific vintage has spawned some impressive grapes picked in last ten days of September and the first part of the month of October. Expect an attractive fragrant nose of savoury plums and red/blue fruits with liquorice everywhere. The attack is similar with slightly bitter savoury austere character you can attribute too Chianti but with bright fruit to counterbalance the austerity. On the palate it is structurally ripe and sweet with substantial but well managed tannins that are dissipating in the bottle. Passignano is getting extra bottle ageing and that aspect is really helping the end product. Tasted: 06 December 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
