Mission Hill Perpetua Chardonnay Osoyoos Vineyard Estate 2009

Osoyoos, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaHoney, peach, vanilla, light lees, pineapple, buttery, toasty, fruit cocktail aromas. Ripe, round, full, fat but juicy palate with a hint of sweetness. Melon, butter, honey, spicy lees, vanilla bean, baked apple, chalky, citrus flavours. The finish is a touch rind-y and salty. Needs a year or so to integrate and fill out. Perpetua is a single vineyard, one hundred percent chardonnay farmed on the Osoyoos lake bench using a mix of three clones: clone 96 (Dijon), clone 809 (Loire) and clone 76 (Dijon). Twenty-five percent is barrel fermented in new French oak for 10 months and stirred by hand every two weeks.Tasted: 02 July 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
