Farnese Edizione Cinque Autoctoni 2009
ItalyFragrant jasmine flower, prune, meaty, spicy, peppery nose with bits of black cherry, coffee, vanilla, licorice and barnyard aromas. Rich, ripe, round, smooth, almost sweet palate with chocolate, vanilla, prune, black cherry jam, orange, meaty, compost, barnyard, leather, five spice flavours. The finish has some tobacco, cedar and dried fig and balsamic notes with some light, chunky tannin. Good ripeness but its over-the-top ripe and the bottle weight is huge. From another era. The fruit is a blend of Abruzzo and Apulia sites.Tasted: 21 February 2012Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $40.00 | 750ml | speculative listing - Authentic Wines |
