M. Chapoutier Saint Joseph Les Granits Rouge 2008

Saint Joseph, Northern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceA fully biodynamic and organic wine. Very spicy, intense black pepper, sausage meat, roasted pepper, black cherry, smoky, garrigue, cigar aromas. Round, dry, supple, full, elegant palate with a touch of austerity. Juicy black cherry, peppery, meaty, leather, chocolate, garrigue, mineral, licorice flavours with a touch of clove and curry. Very fine balance with finesse yet the ability to age 4-7 years, perhaps longer. A fine effort from a selection of our oldest syrah trunks in the heart of the Saint Joseph appellation.Tasted: 28 December 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices: BC 70.00 specialty listing AB 95.00 fine wine stores Producer: M.
