M. Chapoutier De L'Orée Ermitage Blanc 2008
Hermitage, Northern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceSome 60 to 70 years old marsanne is the story here. Apricot, pear, marzipan, acacia, quince, honey, candied lemon peel with a hint of butter and vanilla. Ripe, round, juicy, fresh, textured palate with good finesse but concentrated. Baked apple, apricot, honey, lemon, almond, acacia, ginger and anise flavours. Long, fresh, juicy finish. Delicious now but has the tradition and ability to age 3 decades. Ooh la la, very fine. Try this with foie gras.Tasted: 28 December 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $175.00 | 750ml | specialty listing |
