De Martino Las Cruces Old Bush Vines 2008

Valle del Cachapoal, Valle del Rapel, Region del Valle Central, ChileMinty, sappy, cassis, black cherry, savoury, peppery, floral, tobacco, vanilla, tobacco, mineral, licorice aromas. Dry, full, round, supple palate with juicy acidity. Peppery, sappy, bay leaf, cassis jam, plum, cedar, coffee, vanilla, savoury, mineral, minty, chocolate, meaty flavours. Good complexity but still youthful. Has some finesse. The Old Bush Vines, "Las Cruces," is a first for De Martino in the Cachapoal Valley. The vineyards is 60 plus years old and while it is principally covered with malbec and carmenère there are other vines in the vineyard that have yet to be identified.
