Herder Merlot 2008
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaOpen peppery, black cherry, prune plum, chocolate cedar nose with bits of tobacco, black olive, and vanilla, coffee and saddle leather aromas. Ripe, round, dry, elegant palate with some youthful tannins followed by more smoky, coffee, peppery, plum, cherry jam flavours spiked with cedar, earth and a touch of barnyard. A bit young, dry and youthful but with fruit and the ability to improve in the bottle over the next -4 years. Well done.
