Haywire Pinot Gris Switchback Vineyard Clone 52 2010
Summerland Bench, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaIts year two for the single-vineyard, single clone (clone 52) pinot gris made from five year old vines. Last year we suggested Haywire is a study in subtlety and nuance and it remains so in 2010. Acidity is the primary focus of the undercarriage and it sets the stage for a delicate array of tree fruits and floral notes to entertain the nose. The flavour intensity has been bumped up ever so slightly as the vineyard finds its way. Minimalist and proud of it, 'Haywire' is anything but in year two. Oysters anyone.Tasted: 15 August 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $23.00 | 750ml | winery direct; speculative listing - Landmark Wines |
