Tommasi Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2006

Veneto, ItalyTommasi blends corvina, corvinone, rondinella and molinara from several hillside sites to shape its Amarone. The grapes are air dried after picking the grapes on small open racks and air dried until mid to late January typically loosing for 40 to 50 percent of their weight. Look for a slightly heavier version of the '05 with creamy baked cherries and spice on the nose and palate with rich, pruny, tobacco, mocha flavours. Youthful and a bit rambunctious but nothing a stew or big game meats wouldn't smooth out. Tasted: 14 February 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
