Tinhorn Creek 2Bench Oldfield Series Red 2007
Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaThe first release of a "Bordeaux" style blend from Tinhorn Creek mixing 42 cabernet sauvignon with equal parts of cabernet franc and merlot aged 18 months in new, one and two-year old French oak and then 15 more months in bottle. We like the smooth textures and floral notes that suggest a Bordeaux sensibility although the cabernet component is quite strong in a northwest herbal kind of way. The tannins are firm with black fruit, smoky chocolate coffee flavours. Age another 3 years or serve now with T-bone steaks.Tasted: 05 January 2011Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $23.00 | 750ml | winery direct, VQA and private wine shops |
