Napa Valley, California, United StatesStarmont a standalone brand made by Merryvale comes off three relatively cool Napa Valley vineyard sites Milliken, Linda Vista and Stanly Ranch. You may be surprised by the freshness but a whole cluster press and 50/50 mix of stainless steel fermented and barrel fermented fruit aged a mere 8 months in only 15 per cent new oak seals the deal. A less is more chardonnay from Napa swimming in bright pear/apple/nectarine fruit with bits of butterscotch, vanilla and spice. A great addition to any wine list or evening at home.
