Rodney Strong Pinot Noir Reserve 2008
Russian River, Sonoma County, California, United StatesThe RS Reserve is a blend of individually farmed lots from across the Russian River Valley. Each is vinified separately and then barrel selected for the Reserve. Cluster and berry sorting precede a cold soak regime. Look for a supple, rich voluptuous style pinot with layers of red cherry, raspberry and strawberry fruit with a spicy sweet vanilla underbelly. The tannins are light. The finish is long with black cherry, strawberry and toasted vanilla notes. It's a touch warm but well balanced. The blend is a mix of clones 115, 777 with a bit of 114.
