Rodney Strong Zinfandel Knotty Vines 2007

Sonoma County, California, United StatesBig blackberry, strawberry jam, licorice, spicy, peppery, tobacco, meaty, riparian aromas, good and clean. Ripe, round, supple, rich palate if a bit alcoholic warm and tart. Lots of blackberry jam, smoky, rooty, licorice, peppery, plum, spicy, cola flavours. Good solid fruit and intensity for current drinking. Rodney Strong has about 15 acres of old, gnarled zinfandel vines, planted in 1904, that go into the blend of fruit that mixes the appellations of Dry Creek, Russian River and Alexander Valleys.Tasted: 05 January 2010Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
