Stoneboat Vineyards Verglas 2007
Oliver, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, CanadaAccording to Wikipedia, "verglas is a term for a thin layer of water ice coating a rocky surface or footpath. It poses a danger to hill walkers and rock climbers, being extremely slippery and often nearly invisible." No such danger stems from drinking this fabulous botrytised oranienstenier whose vines are 26 years old. Complex aromas that one normally doesn't associate with most icewines because they are seldom affected by botrytis. Revel in the intense, super sweet peach, pineapple and melon flavours. The palate and finish is fat but fresh with a decent dollop of acidity. Well done.Tasted: 08 November 2009Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $55.00 | 375ml | winery direct |
