Il Pino di Biserno 2005
Bolgheri, Tuscany, ItalyIl Pino di Biserno is the nest step up from the Insoglio del Cinghiale and it trades the woodsy rustic shirt for a more elegant style. The blend is a mix of cabernet franc (35%), cabernet sauvignon (30%), merlot (20%) and petit verdot (15). The less is more philosophy begins with its understated, savoury nose hinting at floral, red fruit notes with bits of earth and mushrooms. The palate is concentrated yet balanced with glossy tannins and silky textures that are persistent in the mouth with some liquorice and resin in the finish.Tasted: 23 September 2009Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $76.00 | 750ml | specialty listing |
