Mitolo Jester Shiraz 2006
McLaren Vale, South Australia, AustraliaBen Glaetzer is the winemaker at this young (established 1999) winery. The style is hedonistic and approachable at bottling. It's aged in two and three year old G.A.M. barrels ( French oak) which explain the classy oak and spicy vanilla nose complete with sour black cherry and cassis notes. The textures are smooth, rich with more dark fruit, garrigue and peppery flavours on the mid palate with just a touch of acidity poking through. A fragrant, relatively light style of shiraz.Tasted: 25 October 2008Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $26.50 | 750ml | specialty listing |
