Casa Silva Doña Dominga Sauvignon Blanc Semillon Single Vineyard La Hijulea 2006
Valle del Colchagua, Valle del Rapel, Region del Valle Central, ChileNot quite as vibrant as the '07 and showing as you might expect more for the sémillon character as it approaches a yea rand half in bottle. Notes of fig and oil mix with the grassy melon fruit flavours of sauvignon blanc. Needs drinking this spring. The blend is 50/50 sauvignon sémillon from the La Hijuela Vineyard in Colchagua. Yields are an amazingly low 30 hectolitres per hectare and it all goes through a stainless steel ferment. Needs a screwcap to really tighten up the finish and keep it fresh a longer period in bottle.
