Rodney Strong Cabernet Sauvignon Alden Vineyards 2001
Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California, United StatesAlden Vineyards sits at 900 to 1100 feet above sea level where prolonged cooler temperatures combined with the overcast mornings in spring and early summer help the fruit to ripen slowly. The '01has smoky oak and vanilla nose with cedar, tobacco, cassis, cardamom, and spicy coffee notes mixed with saddle leather undertones. Round, dry, elegant style with some dry, cedar-y tannins. Cassis, peppery, vanilla, coffee, cedar, tobacco, black olive flavours. Young with dry, slightly astringent tannins. Needs two to four years to smooth out.Tasted: 09 July 2005Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $49.99 | 750ml | Specialty |
