Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, California, United StatesAlden Vineyards is situated on the eastern most edge of the Alexander Valley, bordering the Mayacamas Mountain range above the fog line where the warm dry conditions are ideal for ripening of red varieties. The blend is 86 per cent cabernet sauvignon, 8 per cent cabernet franc, 6 per cent merlot. Look for big full mountain red and black berry fruit flavours streaked with spice, mint and new oak. The finish is long with a dusting of tannins yet are well masked by the fruit.
