Luigi Einaudi Barolo Costa Grimaldi 2001
Dogliani, Cuneo, Piedmont, ItalyA single vineyard selection. Good dark cherry colour. Very smoky, peppery, coffee, vanilla, prune nose mixed with black cherry jam, strawberry, barnyard and truffle - excellent aromatics. Rich, round, elegant style gut fairly tight. Good smoky, spicy, peppery, coffee, black cherry, strawberry flavours mixed wit tobacco, tarry licorice notes on the finish. Long, warm and very young with tannins to shed, this has good finesse and is a classic aging style for 7-15 years.Tasted: 24 July 2005Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $99.95 | 750ml |
