Craggy Range Sophia 2002

Gimblett Gravels, Hawkes Bay, North Island, New ZealandLook for a chocolate, balsamic, plum jam nose with mocha vanilla, Christmas pudding and cardamom notes. Rich, round, dry and somewhat tannic but fat. Intense mocha, chocolate pudding, dried orange peel, black cherry and licorice flavours. Finish is dry with some slightly austere tannins. Not as fat as the last vintage but good intensity. A bit more Bordelais, needs 2-5 years to soften.Tasted: 18 June 2005Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
