Cape Jaffa Shiraz 2001

Mount Benson, Limestone Coast, South Australia, AustraliaSlightly reduced nose with sausage, gamey, wet tobacco, rootsy, licorice aromas mixed with pepper and cooked blackberry aromas. Dry, rich, smooth with ripe but obvious tannins; will need more time to settle down. Lots of peppery, spicy, smoky vanilla, licorice root, black cherry, eucalyptus flavours. Good intensity and balance but needs a few years to soften the tannins. Best if decanted to express the fruit.Tasted: 03 March 2005Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
