Concha y Toro Trio Merlot Carmenere Cabernet Sauvignon 2003
Valle del Rapel, Region del Valle Central, ChileThe latest incarnation of the Trio brand features three grape varieties in this case 65 per cent Rapel merlot mixed with 20 per cent Rapel carmenère and 15 per cent Maipo cabernet sauvignon all made separately and then aged for 14 months in French and American oak. The nose is an intoxicating mix of vanilla black fruit herbs and pepper. The textures are super silky and the finish long. This is an impressive bottle of juice for the price ― this is also real winemaking and the real Chile.Tasted: 18 February 2005Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $15.95 | 750ml | Specialty |
