Quinta do Crasto Douro Vinho Tinto 2001

Douro Valley, Northern Portugal, PortugalAttractive black plum, earthy, licorice aromas with notes of tea, bitter chocolate and casiss. Round, dry, and rich with supple tannins but it's not without finesse. Similar peppery, licorice, earthy, black plum fruit, chocolate pudding flavours with a touch of cherry. It's a bit warm (alcoholic) but it has fine intensity and very ripe fruit. From a top vintage in the Douro this needs 2 to 3 years to round out but is drinkable now.Tasted: 20 October 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
