Allegrini La Grola 2001

Verona, Veneto, ItalyStrong gamey, coffee, black cherry, roasted pepper nose with ground white pepper and rootsy aromas. Rich, round, elegant style with slightly dry tannins on entry. Lots of licorice, peppery, spicy, tobacco, smoky coffee flavours with black cherry on the finish. Bigger and drier than the prior vintage but with similar intensity. It needs another 12 to 36 months to smooth out.Tasted: 25 October 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
