Penedès, Catalunya (Catalonia Cataluña), SpainAmazing deep black cherry colour. Leafy, tobacco, coffee, peppery, savoury notes on the nose with streaks of earth and dill. Rich, fat, round and dry with some young tannins. Very spicy, black cherry, black plum flavours with some enticing tobacco, chocolate notes and a bit of an olive, cassis streak on the finish. Well balanced and rich if a touch herbaceous on the nose. Could use a few years yet to round out but otherwise first rate.
