Wynns Coonawarra Estate John Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon Limited Release 1999

Coonawarra, South Australia, AustraliaWynns Coonawarra Estate John Riddoch was launched in 1982 as a flagship wine to be made in small quantities from the best estate cabernet fruit available. We like the '99 Riddoch with its peppery, clove, coriander, smoky, tobacco and saddle leather aromas mixed with green olive and bell pepper. It is extremely rich, smooth and round with intense peppery, spicy, smoky, leather, tobacco, cassis flavours and some Coonawarra minty, olive streaks. It has fine concentration and length. It's a bit alcoholic and somewhat acidic but after 20 months in new and one year old oak it will need more time to settle down. Best get it while you can because there are rumours there will be no 2000, 2001 or 2002.Tasted: 05 May 2004Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
