Conterno Fantino Barolo Parussi 2000
Castiglione Falletto, Cuneo, Piedmont, ItalyOne of the more recent Conterno Fantino purchases is Parussi, a Barolo cru from Castiglione Falletto where the calcium-laced soil is known to produce elegant wines. Look for a strawberry, forest, tarry, violet, truffle nose with peppery, gamey, coffee streaks and excellent complexity. Definitely elegant and showing some finesse but it is dry and tannic too. Spicy, coffee, tarry, gamey, strawberry jam, cherry and iodine flavours.
