La Crau de Ma Mère Châteauneuf du Pape 2000
Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceGamey, or as one writer has said before "clean horse blanket" with meaty, spicy, barnyard, smoky peppery notes mixed with black raspberry and prune, plum fruit. Rich round and concentrated with ripe, grainy tannins. Spicy, black raspberry jam and cherry kirsch flavours with a smoky, prune finish. Quite intense and a bit reduced at this point but should come around over the next two to seven years in bottle.
