Coastal Region, South AfricaA major style shift with the 1998 introduces more of the lifted, roasted new oak, meaty character associated with this grape. Very smoky leather, barnyard game, spicy, smoked jalapeno aromas with some black cherry jam. Round, dry and elegant with spicy, garrigue, smoky leather, olive and cedary oak flavours. Nicely balanced and ready to drink, this is somewhat of an old style and dry on the finish.
