Casa de la Ermita Jumilla (Purple Capsule) 2001

Jumilla, Valencia and Murcia, SpainThe Jumilla wine-growing region encompasses a large area in the province of Murcia and Albacete in south-eastern Spain. It is a rugged country, where the vineyards grow on a high plateau surrounded by mountains. The Purple Capsule is made from a blend of mouvedre merlot, tempranillo, cabernet sauvignon and syrah. The nose is intense with big red fruit and gamy/cherry raspberry nose. Soft round entry (plenty of alcohol) and a smooth mid-palate. More cherry fruit in the finish. Definite Euro-style with a spicy cherry licorice finish.Tasted: 26 October 2003Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
