Castaño Monastrell 2002

Yecla, Valencia and Murcia, SpainIntense black cherry jam, gamey, black pepper, almond nose with some mineral and prune notes. Ripe, round, soft, forward textures but dry. Very spicy, mineral, liquorice, earthy, black raspberry flavours. A bit warm with a touch of dry tannins on the finish but a solid, enjoyable red to drink young. Worth trying and good value.Tasted: 17 August 2003Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:
