Casa Lapostolle Cabernet Sauvignon Cuvée Alexandre 1999
Valle de Casablanca, Region de Aconcagua, ChileCuvée Alexandre has a warm, spicy, peppery nose laced with cassis, blackberry fruit, coffee and vanilla. The entry is ripe rich and smooth with more smoky, coffee, cigar, licorice flavours and even more blackberry cassis clove notes on the finish. The tannins are still somewhat grainy but this is a well-balanced, rich wine. It will improve over the next three years and in many ways this is a much better bet than many Australian cabernets in the same price range.Tasted: 23 July 2003Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $28.95 | 750ml | Specialty |
