Sonoma Coast, Sonoma County, California, United StatesLa Crema is easily one of the best chardonnay producers in California and its latest effort the 2001 is no exception. Look for an open creamy lees, pear, peach and baked apple nose that is very sophisticated with a touch of butterscotch. On the palate you pick up more spicy lees, pear, green apple and citrus with butter. Lovely balance and weight with an oily texture. A sort of New-Age Burgundy style for California.
