Chateau de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge 2000

Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Southern Rhone, Rhone Valley, FranceAlthough the 1999 is still in market, the 2000 was available for tasting at the winery this year. Big smoky, spicy, gamy, black berry, black plum, garrigue and pepper aromas. Very rich, round and supple but intense with very ripe tannins. Ripe blackberry jam, plum, gamy, licorice, smoky mineral and leather flavours. Long and supple with very ripe fruit. Very appealing but will age well for at least ten to fifteen years. Keep your eyes open for this arrival.Tasted: 19 September 2002Tasted by: Stuart TobePrices:
