Carmen Sauvignon Blanc 1999
Region del Valle Central, ChileThe '99 sauvignon is made with mostly Rapel fruit with a dash of Maipo Valley. An average of 15 years old the plantings are a mix of sauvignon and sauvignon vert or what the Chileans call sauvignonasse. Lovely lemon/lime citrus style with clean gooseberry fruit. Round and soft in the mouth with wonderful balance. Less green than the '98 and more concentrated fruit. Another impressive sauvignon by winemaker Espinoza. Drink all summer long.Tasted: 01 September 2000Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $12.45 | 750ml |
