Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County, California, United StatesThe 1997 Zinfandel was aged in French and American oak barrels and is made up of 89 per cent zinfandel, 9 petite sirah and 2 other varietals. Expect a mature nose of soya and stewed prunes almost oxidative. It's rich in the mouth but most of the black cherry fruit is gone leaving mostly leather and vanilla flavours.
