Penfolds Koonunga Hill Chardonnay 1996

South Australia, AustraliaOver the past few years the Koonunga Hill label has moved out of the fighting varietal category to compete with better regional wines from around the world. Light, golden yellow colour with aromas of peach, coconut and melon. Similar flavours permeate the palate with a nice touch of vanilla in the finish. Round and balanced, it's drinking well now but should improve over the year. Solid value.Tasted: 01 September 1998Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:
