South Australia, AustraliaEileen Hardy is the flagship brand and the chardonnay is the only white made and even then not every year. There's a fair swag of Padthaway fruit here plus cooler grapes from Adelaide Hills and Canberra fruit. Toasty, lees, vanilla, cream nutty characters, with light pear citrus fruit aromas. Quite a dry toasty style which has good complexity and persistence but we would love just a bit more fruit. A complex effort connoisseurs will gravitate to.
