Wynns Coonawarra Estate John Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon 1988
Coonawarra, South Australia, AustraliaSlightly leaner, lemony style. For the most part tight and closed over the past decade the '88 Riddoch is beginning to turn the corner. Won the Warren Winiarski trophy twice at the London Wine Competition for top cabernet. Very spicy, pepper, cassis, tobacco ash, earth and coffee aromas. Quite big in the mouth with somewhat tannic, dry and acidic structure. Cassis, peppery, tobacco leaf spice flavours. Tight, somewhat disjointed, perhaps will improve but may be on the down slope too.Tasted: 01 March 1991Tasted by: Anthony Gismondi and Stuart TobePrices:BC | $80.00 | 750ml |
