Trade Day Wines

By: Geoffrey Moss MW
46th Vancouver International Wine Festival picks

At the Vancouver International Wine Festival, most wineries pour a fifth wine reserved for the trade sessions.

If you're lucky, they may just happen to be under the table for the consumer events. It never hurts to ask for a cheeky pour, with a compelling list of wines on offer. Here are five wines you don't want to miss:

Unsworth Vineyards 2022 Pinot Noir (Cowichan Valley) - $39.90
The benchmark producer in Cowichan Valley, this is Vancouver Island pinot at its best.

Robert Mondavi 2021 Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) - $112.99
Robert Mondavi's legacy is in good hands under Director of Winemaking Kurtis Ogasawara.

Salentein 2019 Single Vineyard "Las Secuoyas" Chardonnay $59.99

One of Mendoza's top wineries, this is world-class chardonnay from Salentein's high-altitude San Pablo vineyard at 1600m elevation.

Adelsheim 2021 Ribbon Springs Vineyard Pinot Noir (Oregon) - $117.49
A pioneer of the Willamette Valley, this pinot noir shows the distinct earthiness of Ribbon Ridge AVA

Signorello 2021 Signori Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) - $233.99
If you have the opportunity to taste Signori, you take it.
