Vineyards and Valor

By: Anthony Gismondi
Retracing Seaforth Military History Through French Wine, Cuisine, and the Great War

Explore the rich history of a time when the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada distinguished themselves in the trenches of France.

This evening intertwines their storied military campaigns with the heritage of French wine regions. We pay tribute to the Seaforths’ legacy while celebrating the timeless connection between French wine, food and the landscapes shaped by history.

This fundraising dinner supports the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada's mission to send 40 soldiers to the 80th anniversary celebration of the liberation of Holland in May 2025.
  • A fine dining experience inspired by the flavours of French wartime regions.
  • Taste exquisite selections from appellations significant in World War I history, including Champagne, Burgundy, Bordeaux, Loire Valley and Alsace.
  • Guest speakers from the military community share compelling stories of World War I valour and sacrifice.
