North America's largest consumer and trade wine show, the Vancouver International Wine Festival, returns this year, running April 22 to 30, later than its usual end-of-February position on the calendar, a date it will return to next year.
Another temporary adjustment for them this year is the location of the central festival event, the three-day International Tasting Room, which will be under the sails at Canada Place instead of the VCC West. Some seminars and smaller tasting events will also take place at Canda Place. Anthony chats with Harry Hertscheg, the Executive Director for the Vancouver International Wine Festival and master Sommelier (MS) Evan Goldstein, this year's festival keynote speaker, and a specialist in South America, the 2023 festival theme region(s). Harry offers an overview of the entire festival, from how many wineries will attend, to how to buy tickets, including an offer for a free tasting room ticket with a hotel stay. At the same time, Evan provides some insights into South America and the Creme de la Crema tasting seminar that he and Anthony will be hosting, featuring ten top-tier South American wines. We'll be producing content around the festival in April, May and June. Visit our website for articles, tasting notes and top ten lists.
