Top 10 : Summer Reds

By: Treve Ring
lighter reds that pair perfectly to summer

Lighter, quaffable, chillable reds pair perfectly with summer.

You needn't leave red wines alone when the temperature spikes. You just need to choose your wines differently. Eschew big, wood-driven and tannin-laden reds; they'll make you feel even more sluggish in the sunshine. Plus, warm temperatures make these big wines taste soupy and unbalanced. Look for lighter wines, in both body and hue, with lithesome tannins and ample acidity. These reds are ideal to dunk in an ice bucket or pop in the fridge prior to enjoying. While easy to drink solo, these fresh reds also partner very well with summer-fresh bounty.

Here are the Top 10 Summer Reds we'll be enjoying, along with the sunshine, for the next couple of months.
