SOUTH WORLD WINE SOCIETY

The South World Wine Society, Vancouver's newest wine club, focuses on the wines of the Southern Hemisphere. It is a non-profit society that is dedicated to creating a greater understanding and appreciation of the wines of Argentina, Australia, Chile, New Zealand and South Africa. The club welcomes all wine enthusiasts from novices to experts alike. The tastings are designed to be informative and to encourage an open exchange of thoughts and comments about wines but the atmosphere is friendly and informal. Tastings are lead by different industry experts including whenever possible visiting winery types from around the world. Season's in the Park (in Queen Elizabeth Park) is the unofficial home of most South World tastings and include hors d'oeuvres designed to accompany the evening's wine.
